Why Didn't Santa Claus Tell The Other Reindeer To Not Bully Rudolph?
So I got Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer stuck in my head and it made me think, why did Santa Claus (or the elves) never tell them off for being bullies to Rudolph? If you read the lyrics or listen to the song, they seem to just let them bully him.
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (TV Movie 1964)
Here are the lyrics:
You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen
Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen
But do you recall
The most famous reindeer of all?
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
Had a very shiny nose
And if you ever saw it
You would even say it glows
All of the other reindeer
Used to laugh and call him names
They never let poor Rudolph
Join in any reindeer games
Then one foggy Christmas Eve
Santa came to say
"Rudolph, with your nose so bright
Won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"
Then how the reindeer loved him
As they shouted out with glee
"Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
You'll go down in history"
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
Had a very shiny nose
And if you ever saw it
You would even say it glows
All of the other reindeer
Used to laugh and call him names
They never let poor Rudolph
Join in any reindeer games
Then one foggy Christmas Eve
Santa came to say
"Rudolph, with your nose so bright
Won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"
Then how the reindeer loved him
As they shouted out with glee
"Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
You'll go down in history"
And then the reindeer only liked him after he saved Christmas and was deemed useful... these reindeer are shitty.
So why did Santa or anyone else tell them to stop? Even if the reindeer can't speak a human language you can still tell when animals are bullying another animal and leaving them out of the pack. So it's not like they just couldn't know the bad behavior. Rudolph didn't choose to have a red nose, no one chooses how they look, sound, gender, sexuality, etc. It's not that hard to not be shitty to people, just be nice and there is no problem.
