 What is atheism?  (Someone holding a sign that says "Stand up for science as if your life depends on it.") Theism means the belief in the existence of at least one deity. Atheism is the lack of belief in a deity/deities. The A in atheism means no or without, without god or no god. (Like asymptomatic means without symptoms/no symptoms.)  Atheists don't believe in a god/gods. That is it, nothing less and nothing more.  A lot of people think atheists don't believe in anything or have no morals, and that would be wrong. Atheists believe in plenty of things, just not a god or gods. What an atheist believes in depends on who you ask, the only common thing we have is that we don't believe in a god/gods.
